Cheltenham Town vs Stevenage on 23 Sep 23 - Match CentreThe Robins fell to a 3-0 defeat against Stevenage at the Completely Suzuki Stadium. Jordan Roberts’ first half goal and a double from Elliott List denied Kevin Russell a winning start as interim manager. “In a strange sort of way, I thought between both boxes we were the better team by a mile, ” said Russell. “Some of the football we played was really good but games of football are won and lost on what happens in the two boxes. - South AmericaView All (59)TABLE TENNISWTT Contender Muscat WDWTT Contender Muscat WomenTENNISATP - ShanghaiWTA - Hong KongWTA - RouenWTA - ZhengzhouView All (69)PRIMETIME GAMESMonday Night Football Sunday Night Football Thursday Night Football NFL WEEKLY ODDSNFL Odds Week 1 NFL Odds Week 2 NFL Odds Week 3 NFL Odds Week 4 NFL Odds Week 5 NFL Odds Week 6 NFL Odds Week 7 NFL Odds Week 8 NFL Odds Week 9 NFL Odds Week 10 NFL Odds Week 11 NFL Odds Week 12 NFL Odds Week 13 NFL Odds Week 14 NFL Odds Week 15 NFL Odds Week 16 NFL Odds Week 17 NFL Odds Week 18 PROP BETSMLB Player Props NBA Player Props NFL Player Props FUTURESMLB Futures NBA Futures NFL Futures PLAYOFF PAGESMarch Madness NBA Playoffs NFL Playoffs CHAMPIONSHIP PAGESFinal Four NBA Finals Ryder Cup Stanley Cup Super Bowl Odds The Masters World Series Sportsbook / Soccer Odds / English Football League Trophy Odds / 34:271st HalfStevenage0Wycombe0OddsPopularGame LinesGame PropsGame ParlaysSpread/TotalHalvesMoneyline (Regular Time)Stevenage+120Draw+165Wycombe+340Draw No Bet (Regular Time)Stevenage−285Wycombe+160Both Teams to ScoreBoth Teams to ScoreYes+200No−275Correct ScoreStevenage1:0+2602:0+5502:1+10003:0+17003:1+25003:2+55004:0+45004:1+55000:0+3001:1+4252:2+2800Wycombe1:0+5002:0+17002:1+16003:0+60003:1+50003:2+7000Double ChanceDouble ChanceStevenage or Tie−475Stevenage or Wycombe−210Tie or Wycombe−150Asian HandicapStevenage -0. “We’ve got to be better, more clinical and it has been like that all season but if they keep playing like that, they will get results. ” After a start punctuated by injuries, the visitors struck the first blow with Roberts steering in a second ball from a corner. Luke Southwood was called into action 10 minutes later to prevent the lead doubling with an onrushing save to deny Charlie McNeill one-on-one. Backed by a loud home following, the Robins spurred into life with confidence growing by the minute before Jovan Malcolm rattled the underside of the crossbar after a smart turn and shot inside the box. A clever ball behind the defence from Jordan Roberts allowed Oxford old boy Kane Hemmings to race away down the right. His cross was inch perfect and Reid did the rest with a simple finish past the exposed James Beadle. Time for stout hearts and bravery, but rather than battle their way back and lump the ball forward, United stuck to the gameplan and played their way back into the game. On 23 minutes they were level through Leigh’s second goal since joining from Ipswich. Fin Stevens and Ruben Rodrigues had both gone close with headers when a Billy Bodin header crashed back off the bar. There was a huge contrast in styles between the teams in second and third at the start of the day, but that contributed to a hugely enjoyable encounter that ebbed and flowed for the full 90 minutes. United conceded after 15 minutes after coming under an early Boro barrage from the more direct home team. They had already had to thump two headers out of the ground and captain Moore had headed a Carl Piergianni header out from under the crossbar as crosses, set-pieces and long throws rained into the box before the early pressure paid off when Stevenage opened the scoring. Leigh reacted first and United were level. The game then became much more even, with the U’s zipping the ball around, creating half chances such as a Moore header that flew over two minutes before the end of a first half that highlighted both why the teams are in the promotion chasing places, and how. The excellent Bodin might have put United ahead 90 seconds into the second half but bent his shot just wide of the goal, but the magnificent away fans didn't have too long to wait before Leigh smashed home the second. It wasn't a beautiful build up, it was a long throw from Stevens, a bit of a scrap and then came the class as Leigh swivelled and volleyed the ball beyond the dive of keeper Kristian Hegyi to make it 2-1. United tried to take the sting out of the game, with Stevenage working hard to try and find a way back. Efforts continued to fly in on the Stevenage goal with Aidan Keena driving over before Liam Sercombe’s volley on the edge of the box needed superbly tipping over by Krisztian Hegyi. The half-time break gave the visitors time to regroup and they soon started threatening the Robins’ goal with Jamie Reid forcing Southwood into an excellent low save. The Robins weren’t deterred though as Malcolm’s downward header from Sean Long’s cross needed saving before Keena flashed a ball across an empty six yard box. Sub Josh Murphy was the provider with an outrageous dummy and then a magificent chipped cross from the right. Moore attacked it, headed downwards and United had scored three for the third game in a row. Celebrate your birthday, celebrate a new contract, or celebrate your team when winning from behind for the first time this season. But do celebrate. This is a good time to be part of what is building at Oxford United. Stevenage vs Oxford United on 30 Sep 23 - Match CentreBirthday boy Greg Leigh celebrated in style today as his two goals, along with a header from captain Elliott Moore, earned Oxford United a superb 3-1 win away at Stevenage. A fifth goal in five games from Jamie Reid had given Steve Evans' side an early advantage at the Lamex, but left-back Leigh marked his 29th birthday with a goal in each half before Moore sealed the win to keep his team hot on the heels of leaders Portsmouth. The unflappable James Beadle made an excellent save when sub Elliott List got a clear sight of his goal, and the same player then directed a header off target when unmarked ten minutes from time. Those moments proved pivotal, and with nine minutes left Moore settled affairs with a killer third goal.
